Pierce Lee Butler

Safety & Compliance Director

In what is often the exception rather than the norm, Pierce Butler knew what he wanted to do after school and upon graduation he began taking the prerequisite steps to form the foundation that would make those thoughts become reality.  In 2005 he entered Central Michigan University majoring in Construction Management with a strong supporting minor of Industrial Safety.  After earning his degree in 2009, Pierce began applying his course knowledge to real world projects starting first in the locality of his upbringing on master planned housing developments and then moving into both electrical and Oil & Gas related projects.

During the early portion of his career Pierce was primarily tasked with core project management aspects, monitoring costs, identifying scope changes, and keeping up with actual progress in relation to projected schedules.  Being a quick study he was given additional responsibility in 2012 and assigned to overseeing field activities which entailed leveraging his safety background in leading tailgate meetings, identifying safe work practices, and ensuring that work was carried out in a safe manner consistent with applicable safety program requirements.

For the majority of 2013 Pierce’s journey saw him take advantage of an international opportunity in the burgeoning coal seam gas market of Australia.  During his time as an expat his safety knowledge was again leveraged during the placement of HDPE gathering system lines, while he also worked to bring organization to past and ongoing project documentation requirements.  After returning home to the United States he spearheaded the installation of a domestic distribution installation before joining Helios Rising, Inc. in late 2014.
